December 8, 2021 – Chilly days are ahead for sunny SWFL, but LCEC reminds customers to resist the urge to crank on the heat. Since heating costs two to three times more than cooling, it is wise to consider other ways to stay warm on the chilly winter days ahead. Some energy-efficient options include using an electric blanket or small space heater to stay warm, but it is imperative to abide by all safety instructions. There is also the free option of bundling up in blankets or clothes and cuddling with your furry friend or favorite person. If you absolutely must turn on the heat, LCEC recommends setting the thermostat between 65 and 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
