Interconnection Tiers

Interconnection is the connection of the RGS (renewable generation system) to the LCEC electric grid. An interconnection tier is based on the size of the RGS. All interconnection tiers require a Disconnect Switch. Please carefully review our Disconnect Switch Specifications before installation.

Tier One (0-10kW)

Follow these steps to participate in the program:

Step 1 Except for testing and inspection, the manual disconnect should be open. Do not begin parallel operation until after your bidirectional meter is installed.
Step 2 Review LCEC Net Metering Guidelines.
Step 3 Review the rates.
Step 4 Complete a Tier 1 interconnection agreement.
Step 5 Complete a Application and Compliance Form.
Step 6 Submit the application, interconnection agreement, and supporting documentation* to:

*Supporting documentation includes: An electric one-line diagram and spec sheet of the inverter and other installed equipment. An interconnection fee of $35 will be billed to the account after the agreement is approved.

Step 7 Fax final permit approval to: 239-656-1889 or email LCECNetMetering@lcec.net
Step 8 Begin parallel operation after bidirectional meter is installed.

Tier Two (>10kW-100kW)

Follow these steps to participate in the program:

Step 4 Contact your insurance agent and inquire about proper coverage of your renewable-power system under your policy.
Step 5 Complete the following:
Tier 2 interconnection agreement
Step 6 Complete an Application and Compliance Form.

You will be advised of the interconnection fee after LCEC receives and reviews your completed application and interconnection agreement. This fee will be billed to the account after the agreement is approved.

Tier Three (>100kW-1MW)

Follow these steps to participate in the program:

Step 2 Review LCEC Net Metering Guidelines.
Step 3 Review the rates.
Step 4 Contact your insurance agent and inquire about proper coverage of your renewable-power system under your policy.
Step 5 Complete a Tier 3 interconnection agreement.
Step 6 Complete an Application and Compliance Form.
Step 7 Submit the application, interconnection agreement, and supporting documentation* to:
