EXISTING LIGHTS
All security and roadway lights will be changed out according to the following criteria and priorities:
Repair and Maintenance of Defective Fixtures
LCEC will be converting all lighting to Light Emitting Diodes (LED) fixtures as they need replacement or repair.
Repair and Maintenance only requires replacement of lightbulb
In the event that a lightbulb needs to be replaced, LCEC will use our stock of high-pressure sodium or metal halide bulbs until our supply is depleted.
Functioning existing lights
All lights that are still functioning will not be changed-out.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS OF LED LIGHTING
- The increased visibility facilitates safer navigation and promotes a sense of security to people who work and live in the area.
- Improved nighttime visibility and safety through better color rendering, more uniform lighting distribution.
- Reduced direct and reflected up light which are the primary causes of urban sky glow.
- Helps reduce the carbon footprint and uses less energy.
- All LCEC LED lights will be DarkSky compliant. The DarkSky program provides objective, third-party certification for lighting products, lighting designs, and installed lighting projects that minimize glare, reduce light trespass, and reduce light pollution.
COLOR DIFFERENCES
The color of the LED lighting may be different from the current lighting at a location. The arrow in the image below indicates the light color for the new LCEC LED installations.
NEW LIGHTING AND POLE RATES
Please note the energy cost for the LED light is lower although the fixture itself is more expensive. LED lighting repair requires replacement of the entire fixture. Customer pricing for this convenient lighting option remains affordable.
